The Location
St Helena Bay sits approximately 150km north of Cape Town on the Cape West Coast — just 90 minutes by car, making it the perfect escape from city life without being too far from everything you need. The bay itself is one of only three natural bays in the world where you can watch both sunrise and sunset over the sea, and is widely regarded as one of the calmest bays on the South African coastline.
The area is rich in natural beauty — Southern Right Whales visit the bay seasonally, and Heaviside's Dolphins, found in only two places in the world, are regularly spotted along the coast. The strandveld is home to Angulate Tortoises, Steenbok, Guineafowl and the rare African Black Oystercatcher.
Explore the Area
Paternoster, Langebaan, Port Owen and Lamberts Bay are all within easy reach, offering fresh seafood, art galleries, watersports and charming West Coast hospitality. In spring, the West Coast wildflower season transforms the landscape into a riot of colour.
