Over 200 homeless people, including about 30 children in dire need of warm clothing, blankets, food and other items to help them through the chilly winter were assisted at the Pam Golding Properties Street Store, which was held on 6 July 2015 at Elim Night Shelter in Elsies River in Cape Town.
The Pam Golding Properties agents, staff and families who helped make the Street Store a success.This is according to Charlton Williams, area principal for Pam Golding Properties operating in Goodwood, Athlone and Belhar, who says the event was a huge success.
“We were able to provide them all with more than four items of clothing each.”
In addition to the clothes, he says they distributed 30 blankets, 50 pairs of socks and 50 beanies, and provided at least two helpings each of food, including soup, curry and rice, rolls and cold drinks.
“Our sincere thanks and appreciation for their help and generosity goes to VGV Attorneys, who partnered with us for this event, and to clients, families and friends and our own staff and agents for donating clothing and other useful items.”
He says all the clothes which were left at the end of the day were handed over to the shelter for their thrift shop.
The Elim Night Shelter in Elsies River has approximately 70 residents.
