Pam Golding launches independent buyers’ agency

30 Jun 2016

In line with international trends, Pam Golding Properties (PGP) has expanded its ‘Private Office’ offering, which currently markets exclusive properties on behalf of sellers.

Steward says buyers are increasingly realising the importance of appointing an autonomous agency to represent their best interests when acquiring property.

The expansion will enable both South African and international high-net-worth individuals looking to expand their property portfolios to have access to PGP’s independent, bespoke buyers’ consultancy.

Dr Andrew Golding, CE of the Pam Golding Property group, says acting in the buyer’s best interests and in order to research and source the best properties suited to their specific requirements and at the best possible price, the ‘Private Office’ takes an unbiased, broader view of the market, providing in-depth advice, consultancy and information. He says in the process, investors are able to make professionally informed, calculated decisions.

“Retained by the buyer, we will search and shortlist all suitable properties available on the market. Through this service, we intend sourcing prime properties across the entire market, irrespective of which agency represents the seller.”

Headed up by Lanice Steward, who returns to the Pam Golding Property group with over 29 years of experience in the industry, this new offering by PGP is aimed specifically at high-net-worth individuals who would like an individually customised full service.

Steward says buyers are increasingly realising the importance of appointing an autonomous agency to represent their best interests when acquiring property. They can provide them with relevant advice relating to market conditions, area trends, renovations, running costs, local schools, amenities and a host of other information impacting on their final property of choice.

Importantly, Steward says they will also use their extensive network, databases and access to market and property information to source properties which are not currently on the market.

“Both local and international investors are recognising the advantage of having an edge when investing in property, particularly when growing their portfolios, and in having an independent, professional agency to look after their best interests.”

Recent trends indicate that while the Western Cape remains a popular choice, a growing number of South Africans are reconsidering their moves or opting to return to the economic heartland of Gauteng. This shift marks an inflection point in what has been a dominant trend in the national property market over the past five years.

Buying a home is exciting – but, if you failed to ask the right questions before you bought, it can be terribly disappointing to discover that you cannot build your dream deck or open your boutique coffee shop because of certain property restrictions or zoning laws.

Securing your dream property depends on getting your offer to purchase accepted. Ideally, the seller would be looking for a good price, and the best possible deal while you may want to also secure a good deal for yourself.
