The Verge is a new apartment block, repurposed from what used to be a double storey commercial building on Main Road, Sea Point in Cape Town. The project took 18 months to complete and offers 42 apartments available to rent from 1 August 2015.
This is according to Saul Berman, who heads Berman Bros Group with Paul Berman. He says this project has furthered their ongoing quest to uplift and rejuvenate Sea Point.
“The previous building was old and dull and required a revamp or redevelopment. What we now offer with The Verge is a brand new concept in development; whereas most developments offer apartments for sale, we created The Verge specifically to offer new luxury apartments to let in the heart of Sea Point.”
Paul Berman says this brand new, modern, chic development has uplifted the surrounding area. “The aesthetics of the area have also been dramatically improved as the design of The Verge is elegant and modern. It complements the Sea Point lifestyle perfectly.”
The Verge is perfect for young couples, new families or professionals, since it is close to restaurants and coffee shops, in fact there is a new McDonalds directly below it, and just a brief walk to first-rate schools, the beach and promenade or trendy retail developments, they say.
“The Sea Point rental market has seen a huge demand for new, upmarket living space,” says Bianca Arnsmeyer, Berman Bros Group Properties Sales Manager.
She says there has been an influx of young professionals, new families and students in the Sea Point vicinity, and The Verge is perfectly suited as it provides convenient living. “We are very excited to be providing exactly what the market is looking for.”
Rentals at The Verge start from R11 000 per month for a one bedroom, one bathroom apartment, and from R15 000 per month for a two bedroom, two bathroom apartment.
All of the apartments have large windows to absorb the light and views, as well as open balconies. Quality finishes include vinyl flooring, grey tone interiors, contemporary kitchens with engineered stone countertops, frameless glass showers, and high-spec sanitary ware.
The Verge offers convenient, access-controlled underground parking for tenants. There is 24-hour manned security at the building, with a full intercom system. Lift access is directly from the lobby and the basement level.
Saul and Paul Berman have lived in Sea Point all their lives, and are committed to the reinvigoration of the area. The Berman Bros Group received a nomination from SAPOA for an Innovative Excellence Award for their R400 million redesign and rebuilding of the former Galleria building into The Point shopping mall.
The Verge is ideally situated just 850m from The Point in the heart of cosmopolitan Sea Point.
“By converting aged and underperforming properties into innovative, improved and functional spaces we create great value for property investors, buyers, stakeholders, tenants and patrons,” says Saul Berman.
Apartments in The Verge are offered unfurnished, except for the two show units, which will be let fully furnished. The first show day takes place on Wednesday, 17 June 2015 from 17h30 to 18h30 in units 203 and 204.
