There is a global trend that has become increasingly popular, that of the “hot desk” or co-working space within large office blocks.
Following this trend, a co-working initiative by the Attorney Realtor Hub has already garnered a large take-up and support in the legal fraternity.
“The Attorney Realtor HUB was an obvious national platform to use,” says Meyer de Waal of MDW INC in Cape Town, one of the founding members of the Attorney Realtor HUB. “Already 28 firms of attorneys who form part of the Attorney Realtor Hub are participating in this initiative.”
He says the Attorney Realtor Hub has a large footprint in South Africa, with participating attorneys in the Eastern Cape, Free State, Gauteng, KZN, and the Western Cape.
“This service is not limited to Attorney Realtor Hub Members, but any attorney can make use of the service and also add their offices and services to the co-working pool,” says De Waal.
Attorneys are mobile nowadays, he adds. “I am based in Cape Town and often travel to Gauteng or KZN for meetings. I do not want to meet a client in a fast food outlet. It is much more professional and convenient to meet a client at the offices of a fellow attorney firm and make use of their boardroom facilities as well as internet, WIFI, and if required, secretarial services.”
Eugene Gouws of attorneys Hill McHardy Herbst in Bloemfontein, says: “We usually have an open desk or boardroom available in our office and we welcome fellow attorneys to come and use our facilities. We are able to meet the requirements of attorneys travelling from the Platteland or other cities, who visit Bloemfontein, to have a meeting space and back-up to continue working in a professional working environment.”
Attorneys who want to make use of these services can book a co-working desk or a boardroom or meeting facility at any of the participating attorneys of the Attorney Realtor Hub.
