CampusKey, provider of student accommodation in South Africa, will add another property in Bloemfontein to its nationwide portfolio of student accommodation.
Situated in close proximity to the University of the Free State, the new building will offer 112 luxury, fully-furnished bedrooms, meeting students’ needs by providing their 'home away from home'.
“CampusKey has established a national footprint with campuses at well-established universities, and these include University of the Free State, University of Cape Town, Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University, University of the North-West, Stellenbosch University, University of Pretoria and will also include University of Johannesburg in 2018,” says Leon Howell, MD of CampusKey.
He says building started in February this year for completion in November and they’ll be ready for the 2018 intake of students, offering 720 beds in total in Bloemfontein.
Situated at 246 Paul Kruger Street, Howell says Universitas, the new residence, will be within walking distance from the campus and centrally located to all other amenities. Students will be able to explore Bloemfontein’s museums, markets and shopping malls, or enjoy a night out, all within a 5km radius.
The two new buildings will offer 72 luxury furnished bedrooms, two non-sharing with en suite bathrooms and a shared kitchen, and 40 luxury furnished rooms, four non-sharing with en suite bathrooms and a shared kitchen.
The rooms will be furnished to the highest standard with a ¾ quality bed, en suite bathroom with shower, study area, built-in wardrobes, a wall-mounted panel heater and a 40-inch LED TV with the option of an additional DStv bouquet.
In the Studio Deluxe, the kitchen will only be shared with one other student, which makes it the ideal two bedroomed apartment. The shared kitchen will be fitted with a fridge, microwave, kettle and Snappy Chef stove.
Security is of the utmost importance and all rooms will be fitted with biometric access control. Water, electricity and two Gigabyte Wi-Fi per month will be included in the fee. Furthermore, state-of-the-art gym facilities will be provided onsite, as well as communal areas with pool or foosball tables, DStv, braai areas and a communal kitchen. Laundry facilities will also be available.
“Security is a big priority with cutting-edge biometric access, trailblazing CCTV surveillance systems, secure bicycle storage, basement parking areas and a hands-on dynamic management team,” says Howell.
“Inside our biometric-secured buildings, you’ll find our trendy, modern CampusKey design style, as we understand that it’s hard to feel motivated when you’re not energised by your surroundings. Our all-inclusive offering is designed with one goal in mind, which is to perfectly set each student up for success.”
Howell says CampusKey is growing in size, vision and in understanding. “We’re breaking ground for Africa as the first luxury student housing company and are setting the standard for secure student living in South Africa.”
“We’ve recently launched our #Community to enable our 3 200-plus students countrywide to connect with one another and at the same time, improve their CampusKey and student life experience, and we have so much more planned to grow CampusKey into the best place to live for students from all over South Africa and the world.”
According to Howell, for many students it is the first time they leave home, and their accommodation is one of the most important factors in their happiness and critical for academic success.
“Going to a new city to study provides many opportunities to learn new things, see new places and meet people from different backgrounds and cultures. We enable students to become the best version of themselves and offer everything they need to prepare for the future, and CampusKey is a place where young, eager and aspiring minds thrive.”
