Record stand prices for Klerksdorp

15 Mar 2007
Record prices have been achieved in Klerksdorp for vacant stands recently sold in the area.

Record prices of R650k and R750k have been achieved in Klerksdorp for vacant stands recently sold in the area. The previous highest price for a stand sold in Klerksdorp was R400k.

Comments Sandra Foley, Pam Golding Properties area principal: "The stands which have achieved top prices are located in Klerkdorp's most sought after suburb of Wilkoppies. They form part of a batch of nine stands, ranging in size from 2100-3600sq m, which became available to the market through subdivision, and which are now all sold - mainly to local buyers who will build their primary homes here.

"There is currently a general high demand for vacant land in Klerksdorp, and we are receiving enquiries from developers from around the country. A key factor impacting on the increased demand for homes is the success of the mining industry, with record incomes being achieved due to the gold price and a new uranium mine to be erected in Hartbeesfontein - just 30km from Klerksdorp - which will create a surge in buyers seeking housing. Coupled with this is a growing demand for homes among black buyers, further fuelling the market, across all sectors," says Foley.
