New retirement estate houses and apartments near Mossel Bay

23 Dec 2016

Monte Christo Retirement Village, situated within the 54ha Monte Christo eco-state, on the Garden Route close to Mossel Bay, has launched phase four of the De Caravel Apartment Sectional Title apartments as well as the sought-after additional eight sea-facing plots of which three have already been sold.

Monte Christo nurtures a harmonious lifestyle by creating an environment that encourages residents to focus on their quality of life during retirement.

“Everything at Monte Christo is centred around the well-being of the residents, and creating the interior of their homes is no exception,” says Mark Teuchert, Managing Director of Lazercor Developments.

“We commissioned leading interior architects to redesign and revamp the one-bedroom apartments because we want to make sure we’re ahead of the game when it comes to creating an environment that is comfortable and a place for residents to feel secure and content.

“The overall style and visual appeal of a home plays a huge role in this especially when choosing a home for retirement,” he says.

The established estate with over 50% of the homes already occupied, as well as the first phase of the Caring Facility and Clubhouse completed, is testament that the “dream is now a reality”. The Caring Facilities vary from basic health care, assisted living, home care to full care support with 24/7 onsite medical response services.

The clubhouse, being the heart of the village, contributes towards a comfortable, friendly environment which is facilitated by various features such as an outdoor terrace, beautiful views, ladies bar, braai area and dinning lounge where friends and family are welcome to join their loved ones.

Phase four of De Caravel, the three-storey apartment building with incredible sea views has just been launched. The interior of the apartments has been designed by an accredited team of interior architects, providing a modern interior, furnished with soft colours and modern finishes.

Previously not available to the market, eight seaview village houses have been launched and are ready for development. Three have already been snatched up, with five houses remaining. The distinctive contemporary-designed houses have eight designs to choose from. The choice of number of bedrooms, bathrooms and garages will determine the layout. Furthermore, the residents can customise their home accordingly and create the style they desire with top-end finishes such as tiles, cupboards, carpets and granite countertops.

Each property comes standard with an electric oven, hob and extractor filter, an already installed VOIP telephone line and complimentary internet connection. Each resident is automatically registered on the Personal Emergency Management System (PEMS) and should an emergency arise the PEMS device will alert the necessary Village staff and healthcare professionals.

“Together with medical care, security is also a top priority for Lazercor Developments as well as for residents,” says Teuchert. “Electric perimeter fencing is secured around the entire Village and each entrance and exit has biometric access control, including strategically placed surveillance cameras throughout the estate. The three pillars of security, paramount when choosing a retirement destination are all on offer at Monte Christo, these being medical, physical safety and financial.”

In order to ensure financial security, Monte Christo has introduced a levy structure that ensures that finances are last on residents’ minds. The Levy Stabilisation Fund is structured to cultivate stability and sustainability without levy increases and the system clearly shows where funds are utilised.

Monte Christo nurtures a harmonious lifestyle by creating an environment that encourages residents to focus on their quality of life during retirement. The Garden Route is a particularly beautiful place to retire with the Outeniqua Mountains forming the northern backdrop and the Indian Ocean forming the eastern backdrop.
