New luxury homes in Somerset West from R3.995m

05 Feb 2018

Fairhaven Country Estate is the latest luxury security estate on offer in Somerset West. Property in this Western Cape town has become quite sought after, with buyers attracted by its wholesome country lifestyle, but with all the facilities and amenities of a big city on its doorstep.

It offers an excellent lifestyle for buyers across all demographics, but is especially ideal for families and retirement buyers, and also young professionals, says Jess Jackson, Seeff’s agent mandated to market the development.

Bordered by vineyards and with magnificent views of the Helderberg Mountains and the Strand coastline, Fairhaven Country Estate offers top-class security with a 24-hour guarded entrance, biometric fingerprint access control and electric fencing.

The estate comprises 205 plots ranging in size from 350sqm and a choice of architectural homes of 204sqm to 350sqm. Plot and plan or turn-key options are available.

There is a choice of designs in single and double-storey options and a pick of luxury finishes. The homes will have three bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms and open-plan living with a lounge, dining room and gourmet kitchen plus laundry, as well as a braai patio and double garage.

Finishes are available in a range of options with designer aspects including luxury bathrooms with floating toilets and vanities, freestanding baths, walk-in glass showers and heated towel rails.

Other finishes include porcelain tiles and granite or Caesar stone counters, dropped bulkhead ceilings with down lighting in the living and kitchen areas, air-conditioning in the living area and main bedroom, and landscaped gardens and grounds.

Jackson says amenities and facilities close by include a regional shopping mall with big retail brands including H&M, top medical facilities, close proximity to the international airport and excellent schools like the new Curro Private School.

“You also enjoy access to some of the country’s top wine farms such as Lourensford, Morgenster, Vergelegen and Fleur de Cap,” he says.

Security estate living is one of the fastest housing trends in the country and this trend will continue this year. Somerset West, in particular, offers the ideal environment for such developments and the agent expects high demand for the homes.

“Aside from local buyers, those moving to the metro from Johannesburg or Pretoria and other provinces tend to favour security estates,” says Jackson.

Prices start at R3.995 million and no transfer duty is payable.
