KwaZulu-Natal’s value-for-money estate

Tucked away in the heart of KwaZulu-Natal’s North Coast is an undiscovered gem called Eshowe Hills Golf Estate. Perfectly situated on an eco estate surrounding the oldest golf course in Zululand, established in 1907, Eshowe Hills Golf Estate incorporates a Victorian architectural theme.

This is according to Dave Davenport, Developer of Eshowe Hills Golf Estate, who says apart from the layout and the architecture of the estate, another element that makes Eshowe Hills both unique and attractive is the fact that it is a genuine eco estate. “We are very passionate about conservation and have a population of spectacular birds (the Dhlinza Forest covers part of the estate), and abundant blue and grey duiker as well as bush buck.” He says the estate experiences a good climate, and is at 500 metres above sea level, which makes for cooler summers.

He says the fact that R25 million has already been invested in the infrastructure on the estate is proof that this development is here to stay. Although the launch of Eshowe Hills was followed by a significant decline in the property industry as a whole, the development survived and  continued to show remarkable growth. Since launching, they have sold 70 percent of the 180 sites, and to date 30 homes have been completed, with an additional 3 currently under construction. “The demographics of the buyers have been quite diverse and has included young families, retirees and businessmen - proving that the lifestyle offered on the estate really does appeal to everyone.”

Davenport says most of the residents live and work in Eshowe, whilst others have made it their retirement home. He says Eshowe Hills is the perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of city living, but without the hassle of being too far from shopping centres, the airport and hospitals - “Eshowe Hills is a quintessential lifestyle.”

He says Eshowe Hills has been successful thus far, and is slowly becoming a sought-after residential estate on KwaZulu-Natal’s north coast. “This is mainly due to the security features and panoramic views,” says Davenport.
