IEASA Western Cape legal update a must for agents

The year is fast drawing to a close, and the last legal update for this year being held by the Institute of Estate Agents SA, Western Cape, will take place on 23 November 2016, from 08:30 to 12:30.

The main speaker at this event will be Nicola Bouch, an experienced labour law consultant to a variety of sectors and industries.

Annette Evans, general manager of the Institute of Estate Agents, Western Cape, eCertificates will be issued towards 2015 and 2016 Continuous Professional Development for 3 hours’ attendance (3 non-verifiable points).

“She will share her knowledge on the Labour Relations Act, which includes all staff - whether it be at home or business. There will also be a question and answer session for those who have specific issues to discuss,” says Evans.

 - How to manage poor performance of staff in the home or at the workplace.

 - The importance of setting standards.

- How to establish the reasons for the poor performance.

 - What effective evaluating, monitoring, mentoring and counselling is.

 - What could be deemed a reasonable period.

 - The difference between discipline and poor performance.

- The importance of probation.

 - What the difference is between non-performance during probation and after probation.

 - The correct procedure to be followed in cases of poor performance.

The cost to attend this training session is R250 plus VAT for members, and R450 plus VAT for non-members.
