23 Feb 2016

From 25 to 28 February, the Homemakers Expo will be taking place at the Ticketpro Dome in Northriding, Johannesburg

The exhibition is an opportunity to meet some of the industry’s professionals, be inspired and find design solutions to help you finish some of those home improvement projects.

The exhibition is an opportunity to meet some of the industry’s professionals, be inspired and find design solutions to help you finish some of those home improvement projects.

Here are some of the show’s highlights:

Live by design

This is a brand new curated area that brings a fresh flavour to the show. Feast your eyes on some handpicked décor collections and home improvement goods.

DIY theatre shows

This year the Builders DIY Theatre will feature a Get-it Done arena. Here, homeowners can shop for tools and accessories while enjoying mini do-it-yourself demonstrations.

The 947 boxes

The 947 boxes challenge is a design challenge with a twist. Hosted in collaboration with 947 FM, the challenge takes place within the parameters of two shipping containers.

DJs Darren Simpson and Anele Mdoda will be battling it out in this ‘decorate the box’ banter.

Visit the stall and vote for your favourite - you might just win R100 000 plus worth of content.

Clever cuts

See how Joburg’s youngest talents move around mowers in their high-tech designs. In this innovative competition, a number of students were tasked to show off their design skills and their take on using a rechargeable lawnmower.

Tshepo Seeds of Hope

Sometimes great things stem from small seeds. Be part of this great project by visiting the Tshepo Seeds of Hope stand. Here you can collect your own tree seedling which was planted by Tshepo.

Tshepo’s aim is to build the local community through job creation in the home improvement sector. He not only provides skills and training for the men, but also peace of mind to homeowners who make use of these workers.

Tickets cost R100 for adults and R60 for pensioners.
