Gauteng’s new Rawson Rentals franchise

04 Aug 2014

The potential for growth in this division is "virtually unlimited".

The area covered by the new franchise will service Roodepoort, Ruimsig, Helderkruin, Little Falls, Muldersdrift, Kloofendal, Wilgeheuwel, Strubens Valley and Wilro Park.

This is according to Shaun Groves, the new National Manager of the Rawson Property Group’s rental division.

This certainly applies to a new Rawson Rentals franchise which has just set up under the name Rawson Rentals Gauteng Western Region (GWR). This was established by Ryan Naudé, former Rental Manager at the Rawson Property Group’s Northcliff franchise, where he worked for three years.

The area covered by the new franchise will service Roodepoort, Ruimsig, Helderkruin, Little Falls, Muldersdrift, Kloofendal, Wilgeheuwel, Strubens Valley and Wilro Park.

Naudé sees great potential in this area and has set himself the target of securing 300 rental properties for management by the end of 2015, and he already has close to 50. To achieve his target, he hopes to employ ten agents by the end of this year.

“My three years’ experience in rentals has shown that the performance of many rental agents leaves much to be desired and landlords have understandably quite often been dissatisfied. The plain truth is, however, that in the area in which we now serve the demand for rental property tends to exceed the supply and rents are rising at close to 10 percent per annum,” he says.

Naudé says in a few cases, rents are overpriced and this all too often causes dissatisfaction and difficulties. More often rents are too low priced in relation to today’s market and need to be adjusted upwards when it becomes possible to do so.

“Good service is even more essential in this business than in most - but I promise those dealing with us that we will go the extra mile and do what is necessary to keep landlords happy,” he says.

Particular attention will be paid to the screening of tenants, a process Naudé has already perfected in his previous position, and to the timeous collection of rentals.
