Free property seminars around SA

30 Oct 2014

The Rawson Property Group has extended its training services to the general public. The group is now offering anyone interested in property as a career, or simply as a subject, the chance to take part in comprehensive one day seminars - and there will be absolutely no charge for the service.

The seminars by Rawson will be open to anyone interested in the property market - professionals and non-professionals alike. Barry Fourie, Rawson's National Training Manager, says that the seminars will expose attendees to the many and great opportunities in real estate.

This is according to Barry Fourie, the Rawson Property Group’s National Training Manager, who says that the seminar is a useful introduction to the real estate world, and it will be “very helpful” for anyone looking to be “further educated in the basic facts of real estate”.

The course will be held once every quarter in all the major CBDs of South Africa, and will, among other topics, cover such matters as the governance of the South African estate agency industry, contract law, the legislation framework within which the property sector has to operate, the sales process and how to go about marketing real estate in a highly effective and profitable way.

According to Fourie, the last three years have seen a growing realisation that property is one of the best investment channels open to those trying to increase their wealth.  As an asset class, property has proved itself - and it has the great advantage of being gearable. “We at the Rawson Property Group see it as our duty and our responsibility to help educate the public in how to participate successfully in the property sector.”

Since the enforcement of the new statutory education requirements for estate agents, careers in property have gained a new prestige and acceptability, even in fact a “touch of glamour”, he says. Such careers are seen as worthwhile and sustainable, “not just a job”. As a result, a growing number of graduates and people with other business experience are now gravitating to the property sector, and among those working in property, there is now a higher level of professionalism than ever before.

Fourie says he believes anyone attending the training seminars will discover that a real estate career offers people wonderful opportunities, especially if they are independent, self-motivated and have a strong desire to improve their prospects.

“Those of us in this line of business can testify that property can - and does - open doors to a highly satisfying work life which, in addition to being rewarding, is socially beneficial,” says Fourie.
