Taking place at the Cape Town International Convention Centre from 10 to 12 September 2014, this year the GBCSA is ‘bringing it home’ under the theme ‘it’s time for Africa’.

Sponsored by Nedbank Corporate Property Finance - and one of the highlights on the South African property and sustainability calendar, the Green Building Convention is highly regarded for delivering an engaging programme by securing thought leaders from around the globe who deliver inspiration and insight into the latest trends worldwide.

Are you a Brainwave candidate?

For the second year running the ‘BrainWave’ component of the event will be taking place in the exhibition hall. Based on the hugely popular Ted talks concepts this stage features all walks of life with an idea to help build better buildings and contribute to changing the way the world is built. Talks are limited to punchy10 minute talks of ‘ideas worth sharing’. The presentations and live demonstrations are presented by students and researchers who work in this field.

The GBCSA is calling for submissions from students and pioneers to present their ground-breaking concepts on the BrainWave stage. If you feel you are a candidate please apply by submitting your application online on the Green Building Convention website by Friday 1 August.

Call for nominations for Green Star SA Leadership Awards 2014

The awards were launched two years ago in recognition of the significant transformation that has taken place in South Africa and there are two categories under which individuals can enter, or be nominated by others. These include the Established Green Leader; and the Rising Green Star and the deadline for all submissions and nominations is Friday 22 August.

GBCSA calling for sponsors

The GBCSA is an independent, non-profit organisation and is reliant on the funds raised through sponsorships to bring together this annual groundbreaking event. Nedbank Corporate Property finance has been the principal sponsor for 5 years and are on board again this year.

Additional opportunities exist for sponsorship - from the Brainwave stage to the leadership awards and the leadership dinner - and sponsors are afforded good exposure through the event.

If you are interested in getting involved contact the GBCSA to discuss opportunities that will suite you. For more information, visit GBCSA-convention.
