2,000 homes finished at Bfn project

04 Mar 2009
A total of 2,000 homes have already been completed at a development in the burgeoning new suburb of Mandela Park near Bloemfontein.

The Eden Park Housing Association development was approved some years ago when the ground for the new project was proclaimed.

A further eight phases have been approved but designs will only be finalised shortly before construction on future phases starts. This will allow for the style and layout of individual units to be adjusted to suit market conditions at the time of construction. Different types of housing are being offered, including seven townhouses and flat sites.

The 5 ha shopping centre situated at the entrance of the private suburb has been approved. The new garage is currently under construction at the junction with the Thaba Nchu N8.

The Eden Park Group Housing development boasts its own homeowners and management team. It also has 24 hour security supervision.

The development offers potential buyers a choice of homes with prices ranging from R550k to R1,080m for the largest units.

Buyers are able to select their own stands and have a choice of homes from standard plans and finishes. It takes approximately six months for a property to be completed once finance has been approved.

The suburb includes three schools. A crèche is already in operation and will shortly move to larger premises to cater for the growing number of young families moving into Mandela View. Sites have been allocated inside the development for its own primary and secondary schools with appropriate sports fields. Development of these schools will start in later phases of the suburb.
