The suburbs lying south east of the City Bowl and Table Mountain are collectively known as the ‘Southern Suburbs’. For the most part, they lie at the base of Table Mountain National Park, a mountainous backbone that stretches all the way from Signal Hill to Cape Point. The leafy suburbs span out towards the Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens, the impressive estates of Bishopscourt and the tree-lined roads of Constantia and Tokai.
