About Phuti Manamela Attorneys
Our firm is found by Phuti Nonosy Manamela, who obtained her B Proc. degree from UNISA in 1999 with 7 distinctions in various courses. Nonosy attended the school for Legal Practice in 2000 at School for Legal Practice of the Law Society of Northern Provinces - Polokwane branch. At the law School Nonosy has proven her passion for the legal fraternity when she was nominated to partake in the National Litigation Competition and was awarded certificates for her outstanding performance in 9 out of 11 practical modules offered by the Law Society. She is also a duly admitted Attorney and Conveyancer of the High Court of South Africa.
In 2000 Nonosy served her articles at and under the name and style of MARNEWICK ATTORNEYS, in Polokwane, it was at this point where she acquired experience in Litigation - Magistrates’ Court Practice particularly Debt Collection, High Court Practice and Criminal Procedure. At this firm she proudly serviced clients like FOSCHINI GROUP, JD GROUP and other small micro-lenders. After relocating to GAUTENG, Nonosy joined MNCEDISI NDLOVU ATTORNEYS where she worked as a Professional Assistant and was admitted as an Attorney in 2002. At this firm Nonosy acquired experience in Commercial Legal Practice - Drafting of legal opinions, agreements, registration of companies and close corporations and conducting due diligence for clients such as TRANSNET, EKURHULENI METROPOLITAN MUNICIPALITY, RAND WATER, to name but a few.
With a view of personal growth Nonosy joined NALANE MANAKA Inc as an associate, which has recently merged with WERKSMANS, again continuing practising in the Commercial Practice, Litigation and Administration of Deceased Estate. It was at NALANE MANAKA were Nonosy realized an opportunity to pursue a career in Property Law. In 2004 Nonosy passed her Conveyancing exam and was admitted in the same year. The need to join a full Conveyancing firm hard-pressed her to join TIM DU TOIT Inc. ATTORNEYS in Johannesburg as a Professional Assistant, where she was assigned to implement FICA Compliance on all existing clients, sign bond documents for ABSA, ABSA PRIVATE BANK and ABSA COMMERCIAL PROPERTY DIVISION.
She also worked in various property development transactions, both conventional and sectional title situated mainly in Gauteng Province like CARLSWALD MEADOWS, SAGEWOOD, HERITAGE MANOR, AURUNDO, RIVERBUSH WILLOW ESTATE, and WATERFALL ESTATE serving multi-billion developments in the Midrand area, which also includes township establishment, transfers, estate transfers, insolvent estate transfers, donation and conventional sales. Being young and optimistic, and realizing the need to bring legal knowledge and access to legal service to the poor communities, Nonosy then decided to practice for own account, under the name PHUTI MANAMELA ATTORNEYS.
