A new residential lifestyle estate for the over 50s, situated on Zevenwacht, is on the market. Prices have not yet been determined and it has not been launched to the public – but interest has already overtaken supply.
What is it about Zevenwacht that engenders this interest? Says Lubbe: "The area is an unbelievable, historical place – you are buying history. The farm and the wines are so well known and Zevenwacht has just won the Wine Capital Global Network Best of Wine Tourism Competition in the Significant Wine Tourism Experience category. The new lifestyle estate is in a beautiful setting near the dams, and truly is a lifestyle village, not a typical retirement village. This is for people who still want a quality lifestyle and want to downscale just a bit – but don't want to cramp their lifestyle."
"The Zevenwacht Lifestyle Estate is going to offer 99 very upmarket two- and three-bedroomed units with double garages for the over 50s, as well as a close link to a fully equipped frailcare unit and a further associated 36 one-bedroomed units. The estate offers views of both Table Bay and False Bay, with an evocative look-out point. Buyers will be able to select a design and location best suited to their desires. Once settled in they will be able to take time to savour the harvests of a successful life through the wonderful facilities and amenities offered by Zevenwacht," says Pierre Germishuys, Manager of Seeff Stellenbosch.
A road linking Stellenbosch directly to Zevenwacht is to be completed by April or May 2007.
