An upmarket home in the most-sought after suburb of Bryanston in Johannesburg will be auctioned on 28 November by Park Village Auctions.

The auction will be held at 24C, Ballyclare Drive in the Montpellier Security Estate in Bryanston.

The estate comprises six double storey units says Park Village spokesperson, Sonja Styger.

She says the home is a double storey cluster comprising ground floor, double volume entrance foyer, guest cloakroom, living room with fireplace, dining room, family room, study, kitchen with breakfast room, pantry and scullery/laundry all on the lower level.

The upper level comprises a lounge area which leads to a large patio, four bedrooms (two en suites) with balcony and family bathroom.

Other improvements on the 818 square metre stand include double garages, swimming pool and domestic accommodation all in a well established garden.

Park Village Auctions will also auction a 900 square metre property in Northvale close to the Silverstar Casino in the West Rand.

The property includes a main house and two cottages on a 3.5ha fully secured smallholding with automated gates. There is a vineyard, borehole water and a tropical garden with exotic palm trees worth an estimated R600 000.

It has three bedrooms, three bathrooms, lounge, TV room, dining room, huge kitchen, laundry room, built-in bar, entertainment area and two lapas as well as a water feature, a large koi pond and swimming pool.

The two cottages are self-contained and offer potential for rental income and it also has outbuildings, store rooms, six staff quarters and several garages. The property could be sub-divided, according to Park Village Auctions.

On 24 November in the Western Cape, Rawson Auctions will auction a house at Milnerton Ridge.

The spacious home has four bedrooms, all en suite, a large entertainment/family room with a built-in indoor braai and a spacious open-plan kitchen.

On the 823 square metre erf and part of the property is a separate flat with its own separate entrance and kitchen, one bedroom and a living room.

Rawson Auctions says homes of this quality come onto the market fairly seldom and very few have an independent, potentially revenue earning, flat as part of the deal.

The auction will take place on site at Durbanville Close in Milnerton Ridge and opening bids are expected to be in the region of R1.7 million.

Savvy investors with a yen to live the life of a country gentleman (or gentlewoman) should attend Rawson Auctions’ two Somerset West auctions to be held on site on 6 December.

The first home is a double storey house much of which dates back to the British Colonial era although it has been extensively modernised.

The estate is fairly close to Sir Lowry’s Pass and the village of the same name but less than 10km from Somerset West.

Set on 5.2ha of land with fynbos and mountain views, the home has no less than seven bedrooms, five bathrooms, four garages and a well cared for garden.

It also has two guest cottages, a squash court, stables, workshops and storerooms.

Another property to be auctioned by Rawson Auctions is located in Firlands, near Gordon’s Bay and close to Sir Lowry’s Pass.

Greystone, near Somerset West, one of two properties to be auctioned on 6 December by Rawson Auctions.

The property is set on 14.2ha of ground, most of it covered in some of the Cape’s most unspoilt fynbos.

The farmhouse here is less grand but well suited to someone looking for a country retreat or a home from which to commute to Somerset West, Bellville or Cape Town.

It has three bedrooms and two bathrooms, a large country kitchen, a dining area and a living room. The ancillary buildings include two separate flats.
