The RealNet property group has opened a new franchise to serve the lucrative residential property market in Midrand south in Gauteng.
Principal and director Abdul Aziz Mustapha says the franchise serves Halfway House, Kyalami, Vorna Valley, Buccleuch as well as surrounding agricultural holdings.
"It is a vibrant area thanks to the proximity to both Johannesburg and Pretoria but the pinnacle of the local property scene is definitely the Waterfall City development near the Allandale off-ramp," he says.
The 640ha mixed-use development, described as the biggest in South African history, will offer a variety of residential options ranging in price from around R2.5 million to R6 million.
The estate will consist of an upmarket equestrian estate, a shopping centre near the Allandale off-ramp, two retirement villages, industrial and business parks, a private hospital, and international schools.
About 80 homes have been completed in the equestrian estate, which offers stables, bridle paths, paddocks, training tracks, a veterinary and tack room, jumping arena, lunging ring and dressage areas, Mustapha says.
Keen riders can also sample trails in the green belts, which make up nearly 50 percent of the development.
Cycle and walking trails with bird hides, park benches and drinking fountains have been laid out and residents can launch non-motorised craft on the large lake.
Other amenities include polo fields, a squash court, swimming pools and a club house with a fitness centre and spa.
The first retirement village offers an indoor heated swimming pool, a special gym for the elderly, a card and cigar room, a deli that delivers fresh bread and milk to residents every day.
Other facilities include a cinema, a horticultural centre, a bowling green, a croquet lawn, business centre, a library, travel agent, frail care, an arts and crafts studio, a restaurant, a billiards room and a hair and beauty salon.
Mustapha adds that the Waterfall development will compete with the best in the world once it is completed and is set to focus international attention on Midrand.
