19 May 2008

Paddy Hartdegen, 54, has been writing about the construction, building and civil engineering industries for more than 25 years and has watched the sectors go through the boom-and-bust cycles that characterize these enterprises.

He has written five books on the building industry over the years and has edited numerous business-to-business publications focused on the building, civil engineering and construction.

From time to time he has expressed some controversial views about South Africa's building and construction industries and he is not scared to voice his opinions and the face head-on any criticisms from readers.

He enjoys lively debate and where possible likes to actively engage in a robust debate. Please feel free to write to Hartdegen at any stage and to challenge or support his views.

Hartdegen will be writing a regular column for Property24.com. Contact him at paddyhar@telkomsa.net..
