Two more extensions will be launched on Saturday, 5 December 2015 at the national award-winning Nooitgedacht Village in Stellenbosch, where homes to the value of R438 million have been sold in the first two years.
This is according to Gerhardt Jooste, developer of the project on behalf of the Wirth family, owners of the historic Nooitgedacht wine farm, who says with 249 properties sold and 2 733 potential buyers registered on its website, Nooitgedacht Village is outperforming most other projects of its kind in South Africa.
Nooitgedacht Village has received international praise from publications that include the UK Sunday Times, The Financial Times and Sphere Magazine, and last week received an ABSA Home Loans Developer of the Year award.
Jooste says it has already proved a valuable investment for buyers, who have seen growth of 86% in value in only 24 months. It is expected that this trend will continue with the launch of Village Close and Village Square Phase 2 on Saturday, 5 December.
Village Close is on one of the prime sites in the village. It overlooks a 2.3ha park featuring 130 large trees along cascading streams and waterfalls against the backdrop of the Stellenbosch Mountains.
Village Close will consist of only 28 plot-and-plan opportunities starting at R3.6 million for houses of 260sqm to 320sqm.
Village Square Phase 2 is adjacent to Nooitgedacht Manor, overlooking the Vineyards of Nooitgedacht and Beyerskloof with views of Table Mountain and the Stellenbosch Mountains. Village Square will consist of 13 large 320sqm houses and 56 smaller 122sqm houses. Prices will start at R 1.995 million.
Jooste says the village is setting the trend for authentic lifestyle developments. It was the first of its kind in a traditional village setting where residents could enjoy the benefits of a historic wine farm, panoramic mountain views and an extraordinary range of facilities.
These include a state-of-the-art gymnasium, golf club membership, an equestrian centre, artists’ village, wine cellar, bakery, deli, and market.
The village is on land adjoining the 240ha Nooitgedacht Estate, renowned for its 1774 homestead, and neighbours include the best wine estates in the Cape, including Beyerskloof, Kanonkop, L’Avenir and Simonsig.
Nooitgedacht Village is secured by a state-of-the-art security system that includes heat sensor cameras strategically placed around the estate, manned access monitoring, patrols and alarm response.
Each house is connected to a fibre network supplying super-fast 40mb access for internet, television and telephone.
Only 12% of the properties sold so far have been made available for rent, and were let within days. According to Yolande Britnell Steyn, rental agent for the estate, there is a huge demand for rental stock, specifically from working families.
“The setting, landscape, layout and house designs at Nooitgedacht are only a part of the experience that new homeowners here will have,” says Werner Wirth, CEO of the Nooitgedacht Group of Companies.
“The lifestyle opportunities go far further, with access to private vegetable allotments on the estate, an equestrian centre, golf club membership at nearby Devonvale, walking and running tracks on the Nooitgedacht farm and a fully equipped gym.”
In the small retail quarter in the village, he says a bakery and coffee shop will add to the fresh country aromas while the artists’ village will provide the excitement of regular professional bronze castings.
“The demand is enormous and we expect that the launch of Village Close and Village Square will again attract record crowds,” says Wirth.
