New estate homes on Chapman’s Peak

Gildenhuys says residents will even have access to a boutique wine-tasting venue, already in existence on the property, which is a popular venue for sampling the fruits of the Cape Point Vineyards.

A new secure estate is being developed on the slopes of Chapman’s Peak in Noordhoek - one of the Cape’s most iconic landmarks.

Occupying 27ha of land in total, Chapman’s Peak Estate neighbours the acclaimed De Goede Hoop Estate, already established as one of the South Peninsula’s most prestigious and secure addresses.

Its other near neighbour is Cape Point Vineyards, the award-winning winery with recent accolades including several Old Mutual trophies as well as multiple five-star ratings in the Platters Wine Guide.

The owners of this vineyard have made the land available to develop the new residential estate, which is being marketed exclusively by Pam Golding Properties (PGP).

There are also extensive tracts of fynbos on the estate itself and in its immediate surrounds, she says, and there is quite simply a magnificent view in every direction, and no possibility of urban encroachment.

Chapman’s Peak Estate consists of 28 full title stands, each 4 000 square metres or larger in size. Prices range from R3.1 million to R9 million, depending on the size and location within the estate.

Buyers may design their own dream homes, provided these conform with the estate’s design guidelines. These are aimed at creating architectural sympathy with the magnificent surroundings, and encourage a sophisticated, modern African theme with the use of natural stone, timber and earth-tone colours.

PGP agent Lindsay Bell says the location is one of the best in the Cape. She says the elevated setting on the slopes of Chapman’s Peak provides sweeping views across the Noordhoek Valley, Long Beach and the Atlantic Ocean, while to the rear, the estate borders the Table Mountain National Park.

The 28 stands have been carefully mapped out to ensure maximum privacy and views for every property. There will also be a central area of private open space for all the residents to enjoy, incorporating some 10 acres of rehabilitated wetland, dams, walkways and indigenous flora.

PGP’s area manager for the South Peninsula, Sandi Gildenhuys, says the estate will have multiple layers of security, including perimeter fencing, access control and 24 hour security guards.

Security will be tight yet unobtrusive, she says, maintaining the sense of a rural lifestyle, but with the peace of mind offered of living within an exclusive secure estate.

The overriding atmosphere will be one of timeless elegance and sophisticated ease, she says.

“This is really the best of all worlds – proximity to the sea and an award-winning vineyard, a magnificent rural setting, and yet still within easy reach of the city and all its amenities.”

And the popular Noordhoek Farm Village is located not far from the entrance, with its acclaimed restaurants, boutique hotel and shops, she says.
