Freehold stands are now available in a 1,000 hectare trout and game farm near Lydenberg in Mpumalanga.

Set within a conservation area with an extensive wildlife and grassland management programme, only 2% of the total area will be developed.

Only 112 stands are being marketed, each averaging at 300sq m and priced between R650k and R2,4m.

"Wagenbietjieshoek is situated in the Kwena Basin in the malaria-free Trout Triangle which incorporates the areas of Lydenburg, Waterval Boven, Machadodorp, Belfast and Dullstroom - two and a half hours from Johannesburg and Pretoria and within easy access of surrounding areas and towns of Mpumalanga, including Nelspruit," says Elisme Swart, area principal for Pam Golding Properties (PGP).

Home buyers can choose from a variety of architectural styles with the core style reflecting that of houses of the old Transvaal area, with the emphasis on seclusion and privacy in terms of each home's location.

In order to create a village-like atmosphere the development will comprise seven smaller villages, each with its own unique feel.

These are: The Working Farmstead - modern loft houses; The Grove - English manor, cottage, mill and cart houses; Wagenbietjies Junction - Victorian with brookie-lace finishes and corrugated iron roofs; The Colonial - colonial stone houses; The Mountain Retreat - free architectural expression; Lake Houses - Provincial farmstyle houses; and The Central Village - any of the architectural styles available on the estate.

A resident manager was appointed to ensure the estate is well managed.

The estate will include a country clubhouse facility with swimming pool, farm deli - selling quality organic produce, stabling facilities, housekeeping and gardening services, 24-hour security with perimeter fencing and controlled access, and wireless broadband and 3G connectivity.
