Vredendal is a small town in the northern Olifants River Valley in the Western Cape.
It is situated 250km north of Cape Town on the banks of the Orange River at the southern edge of Little Namaqualand.
The Olifants River wine route, on which it sits, includes the large vineyards of Westcorp and Lutzville.
He adds that this area is fast gaining a reputation as one of the country’s ideal regions for wine production.
