Two high-end hospitality properties in some of the most scenic parts of SA will go under the gavel at a mixed auction on Wednesday 21 July at Summer Place in Johannesburg’s Hyde Park.
The Le Manoir de Brendel wine estate and guesthouse in the Franschhoek valley is well-known as a wedding and conference venue as well as for the production of wine grapes.
The 5-Star guesthouse consists of 10 rooms all with en suite bathrooms. The accommodation facilities are as follows:
– Standard manor house (Suite 2 & 5): Ground floor, private patio overlooking the gardens.
– Lower manor house (Suite 1): Ground floor, private patio overlooking the gardens.
– Upper manor house (Suite 3 & 4): First floor, separate lounge.
– Standard poolside (Suite 7, 8 & 9): Private patio, overlooking swimming pool, magnificent mountain & vineyard views, spacious rooms.
– Executive poolside (Suite 10): Spacious, private patio, overlooking the swimming pool area, mountain & vineyards, spa bath.
The guesthouse also has offices, a breakfast room, dining area (restaurant), lounge with bar, gym and spa with a doctor’s room, and a boutique shop.
In addition to this, the venue has excellent facilities for events and weddings and offers a chapel which is suited to small weddings and can cater for up to 60 guests. The barn can also be used for weddings or functions and can cater for up to 60 guests. Further facilities include a wine tasting room, wine cellar, tennis court, swimming pool, staff cottages as well as an owner/manager's house.
The wine farm is fully functional and the following varieties are harvested on the property:
– White wine includes Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc, Semillon and Chardonnay
– Red wine includes Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Shiraz and Pinotage
All the vineyards are trellised and consist of irrigation via a drip system. The farm has a pump station for water distribution which is supplied by the boreholes or from the scheme. Total planted hectares are 23,37ha.
Moreover, the Hulala Lakeside Lodge is a 56-bed lodge located on an emerald green spur which cuts into a lake. Its colonial hues are set against rolling lawns that reach all the way to the waters edge.
The lodge is a three-and-a-half hour drive from Johannesburg on the Panorama Route and approximately 20 minutes drive from the Kruger National Park.
Situated within a reserve area of approximately 50 hectares and on the shores of the Da Gama Lake, it is located close to White River, Hazyview, the Panorama Route, the Kruger National Park as well as the Mpumalanga International Airport outside Nelspruit.
Hulala Lakeside Lodge is a registered 4-Star establishment offering a main lodge and 28 guest rooms.
The main lodge comprises a reception area, various lounges, a dining room library, well-equipped kitchen, bar facility and male/female toilets. Attached to the main lodge is a wedding/ conference facility with large wooden deck that overlooks the swimming pool and dam area. A freestanding office component is adjacent to the lodge. The lodge also has staff accommodation and a laundry.
Guest accommodation facilities are as follows:
– 6 x lakefront rooms - twin beds, bathroom en suite, fireplace and private patio.
– 21 x garden suites - Twin or King-sized beds, lounge area with chairs and coffee table, bathroom en suite, fireplace and private patio.
– 1 x cottage suite (Honeymoon Suite) - King-sized four poster bed, lounge area with chairs and coffee table, bathroom en suite, fireplace and private swimming pool.
All suites are equipped with satellite TV and tea/coffee making facilities.
The lodge also offers a boma and wooden deck on the dam, together with a boathouse/jetty for the water enthusiasts.
