IHFM will be hosting a free workshop for landlords, which will cover evictions and how to deal with non-paying tenants on Thursday 11 July.
The workshop will be held at the Institute of Estate Agents, Western Cape offices in Sheldon Way, Pinelands.
Marlon Shevelew, senior attorney at Marlon Shevelew and Associates, will be presenting the workshop. He is author of the TPN Residential Lease-pack and presenter of the Advanced Residential Rental Property Law Seminar endorsed by the University of Cape Town.
He will discuss landlords’ rights, evictions and the effect of the Consumer Protection Act on rentals. He and his team offer advice in all areas of residential, commercial, industrial and retail property law and general commercial, consumer and contractual law, says Michael Bauer, general manager of IHFM.
Seats are limited and entry is free for landlords who manage and let their own properties only (no managing agents may attend).
IHFM will be running regular workshops of this kind to help educate the public on various aspects of owning and renting property, Bauer says.
