22 Feb 2013
The Grande Provence Harvest Festival on Saturday, 23 February, has become legendary in the Franschhoek valley and promises to be a great deal of fun for all the family to enjoy.
The day starts at 09h00, with coffee and fresh muffins served upon arrival followed by a tractor ride to the award-winning vineyards for the grape picking. Then guests will move to The Cellar for a tour, wine tasting and a presentation by the General Manager and Winemaker Karl Lambour.
This will be followed by stomping the freshly picked grapes in the barrels, followed by a traditional hosing down of feet. From 11h15 guests will then gather in the garden for a braai, under the watchful eye of Executive Chef Darren Badenhorst, accompanied by live musical entertainment throughout the afternoon.
Cost for the day is R295 per adult and R130 for children under 12. Included in the price is a bottle of Angels Tears wine for each adult and can be collected on departure.
The Harvest Festival is recommended as an excellent team building activity and special rates are given to groups of 10 guests or more.
Be sure to visit The Gallery and discover the latest art pieces on exhibition and also browse through The Shop.
