On the slopes of Camps Bay sits a magnificently designed contemporary home fit for the trendy lifestyle of the Atlantic Seaboard

The home was designed with a colour palette of soft silvery greys, cool white and anthracite, and materials such as slate, marble and granite were used to give the home textured layers and a linear form.

Camps Bay is a summer playground for the global who’s who swooping down from below the 12 Apostles to palm-lined white sand beaches. And with 360-degree views of the sea and mountains, Mundy House is perfect for high-society living and entertaining.

Designed by EHH Architects, the distinctive home is focused on 21st century comforts coupled with green energy technology. The house has the ability to conserve up to 70 000 litres of rain water, has solar heating and advanced LED technology for lighting, all of which ensure a low maintenance and energy-efficient property.

As you enter the house into the double volume statement entrance hall, you are greeted by a bespoke LED chandelier, which is the first of its kind in South Africa, says Brendan Miller of Lew Geffen Sotheby’s International Realty, who has the mandate to sell Mundy House.

There are six bedrooms, all en suite, and the spacious master bedroom has wrap-around views, his and hers bathrooms with a double shower connecting the two and a private dressing room.

The kitchen is fully equipped with a gas hob, wine cooler, double fridge-deep freezer units, steam oven, 800mm wide built-in oven, coffee machine, dishwasher and a ZIP instant boiling water tap, which is integrated into the island worktop.

Miller says a lot of detail and thought has gone into the design of the kitchen.

On the ground floor is a heated pool, Jacuzzi and sundeck and the three storey home has a glass elevator which takes you from the entrance of the house to the granite-tiled rooftop terrace.

Miller says the space is perfect for entertaining guests with the Atlantic Ocean as your view and the 12 Apostles mountain range as the backdrop.

Other features of Mundy House include a home cinema, wine cellar and gym, a yoga room with a mosaic steam room and a plant room. The price is POA  (price on application).
