The awards will celebrate the achievement of this year’s finalists, all up for the title of Nedbank Property Professional of the Year 2010.
Aside from the overall winner and top performer for 2010, the awards will also pay tribute to the industry’s Young Lions, who are the leaders of tomorrow, and it’s Movers & Shakers who have helped to shape it into the business sphere it is today.
This year there are 16 finalists from various regions including Greater Johannesburg, Greater Pretoria, KwaZulu-Natal, Western Cape, and various ancillary regions. These finalists have been selected to compete for the overall winner and top performer category and in random order, include:

Rudi Botha, convenor of the Property Association, explains that all of these finalists, in line with the qualifying criteria for the Awards, are members of the Property Association who have provided the required levels of service as well as having achieved a sales performance of more than R10-million (rural areas R7,5-million) or 36 sales in the 12 month period ending February 2010. In addition, they are registered estate agents with the Estate Agency Affairs Board in accordance with the awards rules.
The ultimate decision lies in the hands of the Trustees of the Property Association who will interview the finalists on Saturday 4 September. Aside from their sales figures, they will be judged on service levels, ethics, professionalism, marketing/innovation, commitment to education/improvement of the industry and community involvement.
The judging criteria will also include first impressions and presentation skills, adherence to the industry’s code of conduct, leadership and development initiatives as well as commitment to education in terms of self and others. BEE initiatives and awareness will also be looked at among other criteria.
“These awards set the benchmark of quality service and definitive success in the real estate industry. We are once again very impressed by the high standard of entrants and wish each finalist the best of luck,” Botha concludes.
