Some of the organisations that will benefit from the blanket donation will be the Port Elizabeth Association for the Aged, Marang House in Northcliff which cares for seriously ill children, the Moreglans old age home in Krugersdorp, the Ann Harding Chesire Home in Randburg, the Christway Children’s Home in Turffontein and the Coronation Park camp near Roodepoort.

To mark Mandela Day the Chas Everitt International property group will be giving away 1000 warm winter blankets to various organisations around the country that care for needy people.

And this is just the start, says group MD, Berry Everitt, who says they feel very strongly about the underlying message of the ‘67 Minutes’ campaign, that every individual should do their part to change the world into a better place and not leave it up to someone else.

Consequently they have asked all their offices and agents to commit further to this campaign and do something positive for their communities, if not actually on Mandela Day, at least in the month of July, he says.

The response to their initiative has been excellent, says Everitt, and they are not only grateful but extremely proud that the empathy and generosity that are so much a part of the Chas Everitt ethos are being spread in this way to the less fortunate members of the communities they serve.
